Further Information:
Infrequent, and found growing on a hump of dung in an open field. Like other specis of the genus Coprinopsis (Coprinus) their spore-bearing plates dissolve to an inky fluid soon after the spores mature. In situ, the cap dissolves gradually from the rim inwards as it matures, blackening and dissolving into an inky liquid until it finally disappears.
